Elva Blades
Mrs. Elva F. Blades, 78, of Beaverton, died Monday, January 3, at Town & Country
Nursing Home, Midland, following a short illness. Born March 14, 1893, in Eaton County, Mrs. Blades
had been a resident of Gladwin County since 1902. The former Miss Elva Reed and George Blades were
married June 29, 1913, in Beaverton. He preceded her in death November 26, 1955. She was a member of
the Beaverton Nazarene Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. James (Velva) Cornell of Gladwin, Mrs. William
(Violet) Bangler of Tecumseh, Mrs. Donald (Grace) Farow of Clare County, and Mrs. Raymond (Lois) Schaard
of Beaverton; fiev sons, Kenneth, William and Shirley of Beaverton, Forest of Midland, and Duane of
Gladwin; one brother Firdell Reed of Saginaw; 36 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 2:00p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, with the Rev.
F. E. Voller officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery at Beaverton.
