Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Harry Blackwell

   Harry S. Blackwell, 64, of 1395 Dutcher Rd., Gladwin, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 1921, at his home after a long illness. Born in Piscataway, N. J., Feb. 17, 1926, he moved to Gladwin County in 1987, from Redford Township. He was an electrician for G. M. Delco Plant in Livonia for 30 years until retiring in January 1987. Mr. Blackwell was a member of the Livonia American Legion Post 32, the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303, the Elks Lodge of Clare, the Gladwin Eagles Club 3292 and the Moose Lodge in Dearborn Heights. Mr. Blackwell and the former Doris (LeVasseur) Thomas were married May 28, 1977, in Plymouth.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 step-sons, Alan Thomas of Colorado and Donald Thomas of Wixom; 3 step-daughters, Mrs. Barbara Samarziya of Novi, Karen Thomas of Garden City and Mrs. Cathline David of Belleville; his step-mother, Mrs. Nelia Blackwell of Tennessee; 2 brothers, Rex of New Jersey and Max of Rogersville, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Faye Shackly of Aloha, Ore.; 3 half-sisters, Mrs. Georgiann Cox, Mrs. Gayle Payne and Bobbie Blackwell of Tennessee; a step-sister, Mrs. Ira Jean Levine of Florida; 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

   Rites were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. Thomas Risch officiated and burial was in the McClure Cemetery.
