Beaverton Historical Society Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice

Anna Bittner
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Bittner, 81, were held on Monday afternoon at
2 o’clock at the Reigle Funeral Home. Mrs. Bittner died in Flint, at the home of her son, on
Friday, October 25. Rev. M. R. Jewell, of the Gladwin Evangelical church officiated and burial
was in the Highland cemetery.
Anna Roth, was born in Van Wert county, Ohio, on June 4, 1865. In 1884 she was married to August
Bittner, in Paulding, Ohio. Mr. Bittner passed away about three years ago. Mrs. Bittner came to
Gladwin county in 1900 and lived here until November 1943, when she went to Flint to live with her son.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Walter Williams, of Flint; one son, Allen Bittner, of Flint; two
brothers, Herman and Theodore Roth, of Indiana; four sisters, Mrs. William Stanford, and Mrs. Lena
Anderson, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Mrs. Mollie Dourty and Mrs. Emma Ogden, of California; 12
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The pallbearers were William Hall, Joseph Kisch, Dan Soldan, William Thiel, Grant Fetterolf and Frank
Reigle.
