John Biery
John F. Biery, 85, of Gladwin, died July 24, 2006 in Marshall, Texas. He was born Feb. 2, 1921, the son of Arthur and Lucile Biery in Canton, Ohio.
He was a fighter pilot during World War II and continued flying for years afterward out of the Gladwin Zettle Airport. John moved to Gladwin to establish Meadow Lanes Bowling Alley and married Belva Bundy of Canton, Ohio on Oct. 21, 1949. He later entered the plastic industry working at Brown Machine Company for approximately 15 years before moving out of the area. He retire in 1991 to pursue his life’s ambition of having fun.
He is survived by his wife, Belva; three children, Halle Biery of Marshall, Texas, John (Cindy) Biery of Arlington, Texas, and Beth (Jay) Gorman, of Frankenmuth; four grandchildren; and dear friends Jerry and Diane Davidson of Marshall, Texas.
Funeral services were held at Grace Covenant Church in Marshall, Texas with Rev. Dick McAnally officiating.
