Rosalie Betz
Rosalie “Rosie” Betz, 83, of Coleman went to be with her Lord and her son, Bruce, on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006. She passed away at Tender Care Nursing Home-Midland after a short illness.
She was born Nov. 21, 1922 to Onisimo and Rosalia (Lucero) Chavez in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Rosalie was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. She lived in Gladwin County for 55 years and was a member of Gladwin County VFW. Rosalie married Duane Betz on Feb. 21, 1946 in Reno, Nevada.
She is survived by her husband, Duane Betz of Coleman; one son, Michael (Barbara) Betz of Modesto, California; one daughter, Rosemarie Betz of Midland; four grandchildren, Jacob and Shelly Russell of Midland, Alicia Russell, Joshua Betz and Erik Betz; one great-grandchild, Journie; and four brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bruce; one brother; and one sister.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 from 10 a.m. to the time of the service at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. The Gladwin County VFW Post will officiate. Burial will take place at Beaverton Cemetery in Beaverton.
