Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Buddie Berryhill

   Buddie Eugene Berryhill, USN (Ret), 68, of Gladwin County lost his final battle with cancer Wednesday evening June 22, 2005 at his home with his daughter and granddaughter by his side.

   Mr. Berryhill was born in Midland on Nov. 7, 1936 to the late Melvin M. and Blanche E. (Cross) Berryhill. Upon his high school graduation he joined the U.S. military. A highly intelligent and accomplished world traveler, he devoted his long time military career defending our country to help make it a safe and free place to live. Mr. Berryhill was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles and a participating member of the Old Antarctic Explorers Association.

   Mr. Berryhill is survived by his daughter, Lillian Anne; granddaughter, Nicollette Lynn; grandson, Cameron Christopher, all of Minneapolis, Minnesota, lifelong comrade and close family friend, Norman McCormick, USA (Ret); sister Janet L. Devone of Orangeville, Illinois; five nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Duane, Eldon Arthur and Lonnie D. Berryhill.

   May fair winds and following seas guide him through his next journey. Mr. Berryhill will be sadly missed by his family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan.
