Lawrence Bergman
LAWRENCE BERGMAN
Lawrence W. (Bill) Bergman, 56, of, 1117 VanDyke Rd., Beaverton, died Sunday, October 14, at Midland Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Tobacco Township June 6, 1917, he was a life-long resident of Gladwin County, a veteran of World War II and a member of the Beaverton Veterans of Foreign Wars. He and the former Mildred McKimmy were married in Beaverton July 8, 1948. Mr. Bergman was employed at Dow Chemical Company, in Midland, for over 26 years, retiring last February.
Surviving are his, wife Mildred; step-mother, Mrs. Abbie Bergman of Beaverton; 2 sons, Daniel of Columbus, Ohio, and Bruce of Beaverton; a daughter, Elaine of Detroit; 4 sisters, Mrs. Larry (Marjorie) Arehart of Beaverton, Mrs. Richard (Eleanor) Tucker of Apache Junction Ariz., Mrs. Donald (Jean) Berner and Mrs. Dallas (Ann) Mowery, both of Midland; and a brother, Calvin of Beaverton.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Beaverton Church of the Brethren and friends will be received at the family home after 4:00 Friday afternoon. Contributions may be made to cancer research through Mrs. Bergman or left at Hall Funeral Home.
