Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Kenneth Berger

   Kenneth D. Berger, 86, of Beaverton went to be with the Lord and his wife on Feb. 16, 2005. He died at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland after a short illness.

   He was born Oct. 13, 1918 to George and Flossie (Sherwood) Berger in Midland, Michigan. He was employed as an operator at Dow Chemical in Midland, retiring in 1979 after 33 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII in the Aleutian Islands.

   He married the former Ruth Huey on June 3, 1946 in Midland; she preceded him in death in 2000. He lived in Gladwin County since 1958, having previously lived in Midland. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Hemlock.

   Surviving are his children, Bill D. (Terri) Berger of Clare, Judith J. (Joe) Murphy of Midland, Thomas W. Berger of Farwell, Shirley R. (Albert) Zieroff of Coleman, Michael R. (Belinda) Berger of Beaverton, James A. (Mary) Berger of Grand Rapids, Duane K. (Elaine) Berger of Beaverton, and Debra R. (James) Zieroff of Beaverton; 33 grandchildren, 19 Great grandchildren and one Great great grandchild; two sisters, Peggy Railling of Florida and Elizabeth Berger of Arizona; brother-in-law Richard (Sandy) Huey of Midland; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, parents, his sister Loretta Loubert, and his brothers Delbert, Rolland and Lawrence.

   Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 21 at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton, with pastor Michael Wise officiating. Burial took place in New Edenville Cemetery, Edenville.
