Beaverton Historical Society Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice

John William Bennett
Rev. Grant L. Jordan, pastor of the Methodist church, and Rev. Charles H. Woods, pastor of the Free Methodist church, will conduct funeral services for John William Bennett Wednesday, February 13, at 2 p. m. at the Methodist church. Burial will be at Highland cemetery in charge of the members of the I. O. O. F. lodge.
Bennett died at his home on Short street Monday morning, February 11, of pneumonia after only a few days illness. He was born in Union county, Ohio, May 14, 1856, and was married in Paulding county, Ohio, to Miss Mary Elizabeth Freshwater. They have lived in Gladwin about 34 years.
He was one of the oldest members of the local I. O. O. F. lodge and assisted in organizing the lodge at Beaverton.
Surviving him are his widow, three sons, Henry and Arthur Bennett, of Gladwin, and Forest Bennett of Detroit, two granddaughters, Maxine and Maurine Bennett, of Gladwin.
