Joseph Belanger
Joseph A. Belanger, 58, of Ypsilanti, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor.
He was born in Ann Arbor on Feb. 9, 1947 to Stanley and Margaret (Barkume) Belanger. He was a proud Marine who served his country during the Vietnam conflict. He was a highly educated individual with a constant thirst for knowledge.
He is survived by two daughters, Anna Belanger of Florida and Daphne Belanger of Amsterdam; his parents, Deacon Stanley and Margaret Belanger of Walled Lake; four brothers, Bernard (Linda) Belanger of Westland, John Belanger of Canton, Bob (Diane) Belanger of Farmington, and James (Brenda) Belanger of Ypsilanti; five sisters, Helen (Jim) McGuire of Northville, Frances Mandaville of Westland, Bernadette Belanger of Northville, Annette Belanger and Rene (Jim) Bosman, both of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak presiding. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Belanger will lie in state at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be made out to “wishes of the family.” The Sisson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
