Lydia Behnke
Mrs. Lydia Behnke, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jungman, was born in Henry
county, Ohio, March 3, 1895, and departed this life at 8:30 Wednesday morning at her home on
Mercer street, Durand. She was married to George Behnke August 12, 1914, at Gladwin, residing
here until five years ago when the couple moved to Durand. Mrs. Behnke was a member of the Salem
Lutheran church in Owosso, copal church at Durand and the Local Circle of Kings's Daughters.
Besides her husband and a son, Harold, 13, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Jungman of Gladwin, a brother, Carl Jungman of Owosso, and three sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Leonard
and Mrs. Mamie Flint of Flint and Miss Verna Jungman of Gladwin. Funeral services were held Friday
afternoon at 2 o'clock from Mapes Chapel. The service was conducted by the Rev. Walter A. Hueschen,
pastor of the Salem Lutheran church, Owosso. Interment in the Vernon cemetery.
