Sylvester Bartkowiak
Sylvester A. Bartkowiak, 69, of 4411 Wagarville Rd., Gladwin, died suddenly
Monday, May 27, in the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Detroit Dec. 13, 1915, he came to Gladwin
County in 1974. He was a carpenter in construction and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Bartkowiak
and the former Shirley Mawby were married May 3, 1942, in Detroit.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Carol Coulter of Waterford and Sharon Garden
of Garden City; 2 sons, Walter Lindsey of Highland and Edward Lindsey of Northville Township; 3
brothers, Leonard of Gladwin, Ralph of Dearborn and Norbet of Bridgport; 4 sisters, Geneive Kozlowski
of Gladwin, Cecilia Schlaud of Capac, Sylvia Moskwa of Sterling Heights and Beatrice MarcAngelo of
Canton; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchi.
