Betty Baker
Betty Jane Baker, 85, of Green Township, formerly of Gladwin, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at her residence. She was born Oct. 9, 1920 in St. Louis, Michigan, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Totten) Redman, and moved to Green Township in 1950, where she has lived since. On March 4, 1939, Betty married Steve Baker, who preceded her in death in 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Ron (Barb) of Paris and David (Nancy) of Big Rapids; two daughters, Jane (Ron) Wirth and Joan (Duane) Anderson, both of Big Rapids; nine grandchildren, Janice, Sandy, Randy, Lora, Steve, Lisa, Tim, Brian and Brent; eight Great-grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron, Austin, Paige, Rachel, Jane, Megan and Anna; two sisters, Shirley VanSyckle of Greenville and Barb Weaver of Gladwin; a brother, Mike (Bonnie) Redman of Gladwin; a sister-in-law, Doreen Redman of Beaverton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Terry; and a grandson, Rickey Baker.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Burial was at the West Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
