Beaverton Historical Society Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice

Michael Bailey
Michael J. Bailey, 28, of Bellaire and formerly of Gladwin, died Wednesday,
Jan. 29, in Veterans Hospital, Ann Arbor, after an illness of several months. Born in Spokane,
Wash., Jan. 21, 1958, he was a mechanic in the Army. Mr. Bailey served from 1976 to April 1980,
when he was given a disability discharge for illness. Mr. Bailey and the former Jean Wilson were
married June 16, 1979, in Gladwin.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, Arthur and Lois Bailey of Whittemore; his
grandmother, Clara Goodman of Gladwin; and his mother-in-law, Kay Wilson of Gladwin.
Services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark
Moore officiated and burial was in the McClure Cemetery. Graveside services were by the Gladwin
County VFW Post 7303. An American Legion service was held Friday at 7 p.m.
