James W. Bailey
JAMES W. BAILEY SR.
James W. Bailey Sr., 73, of Mt. Morris and formerly of Gladwin, died Friday, May 10, 1996. Born Dec. 15, 1922 in Flint, he served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He survived 5 battles and received serveral medals, including the Silver Star. Mr. Bailey retired from AC Spark Plug in 1982 with 30 years of service. He married the former OnaLee Matthews Sept. 7, 1946 in Gladwin.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, James Bailey Jr. of Flint, Ronald and wife Diane of Flushing, and Daniel and wife Rose of Flint; 2 daughters, Carol and husband Norman Nordbye of Columbiaville, and Nancy and husband Ed Sizemore of Highland Township; one brother, Robert L. Bailey of Flint; one sister, Cecilia Earegood of Flint; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerouos nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Edward and a brother, Lawrence Bailey.
Rites were held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Elder Stanley Muma officiated and burial was in Butman Cemetery, Gladwin..
