George Ayres
George Ayres was born Dec. 27, 1859, in the county of Durham, England. He was married in 1877 and resided in England until 1881, then moving with his wife and two small children to Canada, residing there until he moved with his family to Gladwin in 1890, in which place they resided until his de^th. He leaves a wife and six children, Robert, May and Leo at home, Mrs. Anna Partridge of Edenville, Thomas of Wolverine, and Bertha of Saginaw, two sisters and two brothers, who still remain in England and many friends to mourn his loss. He died May 18, 1906, aged 47 years, 5 months and 9 days. She funeral was held in the Ridge church May 20, at the noon hour, conducted by Rev. A. C. Peters. Interment took place in the Gladwin cemetery. Burial services were conducted by the Order of Oddfellows of which he was a member. 'Tis hard to break the tender cord. When love has bound the heart. 'Tis hard, so hard to speak the words "We must forever part." Dearest loved one, we must lay thee In the peaceful grave's embrace; But thy memory will be cherished Till we see thy heavenly face.
