Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
William Asch

   William Asch, 87, of Midland and formerly of Beaverton, died Tuesday, May 16, in the Midland Hospital Center. Born in Munger, July 25, 1901, he moved with parents at an early age to Beaverton where he was raised. Mr. Asch moved to Midland i the early 1930's He owned the Ashman Grocery for 33 years. Mr. Asch was a life member of Centre Lodge 273 F. and A.M., the I.O.O.F. 418 and B.P.O.E. 1610, all of Midland. He was also a member of the Michigan Gas and Oil Association and the R.L.D.S. Church where he served as treauser for several years.

   Mr. Asch and the former Jennie Stauffer were married, Jan. 20, 1936, in Midland. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Walter (Myrna) Maddox of Grosse Pointe Woods and Mrs. Howard (Ellen) Shertzer of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Sam of Beaverton; 2 sisters, Edith Burke of Midland and Mable Groves of Flint; and 2 grandsons. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, John, Fred, Albert, Chris, and Dave Asch and a sister, Elizabeth Collett.

   Rites were held Thursday from the Midland R.L.D.S. Church, Elder Robert Campbell officiated and burial was in the Midland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or the American Heart Associaiton. Arrangements were in charge of the Miner Funeral Home.
