George married Helena J. Arnold in 1957, and they traveled across the country while George worked as a union carpenter. In 1965, George and Helena moved back to Beaverton and began establishing several businesses.
They built a car wash in Beaverton and one in Gladwin; established the Cedar Building and the Stables Mall Print Shop. They continued with these businesses until 1984, when they moved to Tennessee.
George continued in the construction field doing trim carpentry until his retirement in 1999. George is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Helena; and his loving family, his son Scott (Kelli) Adams of Beaverton; two daughters, Nan (Rick) Traxler of Tennessee and Abigail (Kip) Needham of Tennessee; one brother, Reuben (Nancy) Adams of Gladwin; six adoring grandchildren, Aaron, Crischelle, Austin, Alyssa, Ashlee and Chase; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Malachi, Savanna, Mariah, Lucas and Tayla.
According to George's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial celebrating his life is being planned for the near future.
George will be greatly missed by everyone, but he left a great example for all of us to follow. II Timothy 4:6-8 “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”.
